Just Friends Tiffany Pitcock Books Reviews
- Ya'll. It's going to take me a while to get over the end of this book. I wanted to live with these characters for (at least) 100 more pages, if not into a new book (here's looking at you, Tiffany! XD). Chance and Jenny have this incredible chemistry and the most hilarious banter that seriously made me laugh out loud. It takes a lot for me to lol mid-read. I know people keep making comments about it being "cliche goodness" but I swear to you that it's NOT! It takes all of the tropes you're expecting to experience throughout the book and flips them on their head with some awesome commentary on why they should be flipped. Watching Chance and Jenny's friendship develop over the course of the book was so real and raw and I appreciated the careful pacing of it all unfolding. And did I mention it's funny? The humor, the pop culture references- they are all spot on. I seriously can't gush enough about this book!
- I quite enjoyed this twist on the friends to lovers trope. Most often it begins with two people who have been friends for quite some time discovering they have feelings for one another, but what's unique about Just Friends is that Chance and Jenny are made up friends forever. The beginning of their relationship starts during an assignment in their class where they create an elaborate history between the two of them that everyone believes because they're just that good and play off of each other that well. I was rooting for them from the beginning because they're so well suited for each other. Yes, looking from the outside in it may appear they have nothing in common but as they spend more time together Chance and Jenny discover that that may not be true. I loved watching their relationship evolve and the pay off did take a while, but it was worth the wait. Definitely a fun and sweet contemporary romance.
- This was a cuter read than I anticipated when I first cracked it open and read the initial chapters. I did end up sucked in to the plot. However, it felt weakly developed overall and I didn’t end up feeling quite as swoony as I would have hoped.
- The best YA romance novel I have read in a very long time! The romance between Chance and Jenny is so different from other YA books. Everything about this book made me delve into the story so deep that I had to keep reading. Beware it's so captivating, you may end up reading it all in one night! 10/10 would read again.
- Just Friends was a quick and fun read. I enjoyed the "fake friend" spin on the traditional best friend-to-boyfriend love story.
- Fun read. I highly recommend this book. I finished in three days.
- Great book
- Freaking love this book man
