Ebook Nurse to Forever Mom Single Dad Docs Book 4 edition by Susan Carlisle Literature Fiction eBooks
"Nurse to Forever Mom is the fourth book in the Single Dad Docs series. This standalone is written by Susan Carlisle and mentions characters from the three previous books.
After growing up with a mother who was consistently getting married and divorced, Stacey Ryder doesn’t believe in marriage or allowing herself to get close to anyone. That’s why being a traveling nurse suits her just fine. She travels the world and generally works in one place anywhere from a month to a year, and then it’s off to the next assignment. Her current assignment takes her to Maple Island, Massachusetts and the Maple Island Clinic, a clinic formed by a group of single father doctors.
Dr. Cody Brennan is one of the clinic’s co-founders. Cody is a single father to two little girls. Since his divorce from his ex-wife, he has been trying desperately to make up for the mistakes of his ex and himself. Cody doesn’t date and when he isn’t working tries to spend as much time as possible with his girls.
When new nurse Stacey dares to show up in his operating room and question him, Cody can’t help but be intrigued. When Stacey starts to help with small tasks involving the girls, Cody starts to wonder if maybe Stacey is ready to stop traveling the world, put down roots, and become a member of his family.
One thing I love about Susan’s books is that they aren’t complicated. In Nurse to Forever Mom, Stacey and Cody both have baggage but that baggage doesn't weigh the story down. They are both easy to like. In fact, I really enjoyed watching them interact with each other and the girls. Susan’s description of Maple Island makes me want to visit the place. The story ending was perfect and will leave a smile on your face.

**Received a copy of the book from the author and voluntarily reviewed.** - The Single Dad Docs miniseries is about doctors who are dedicated to helping patients plus be a good father to their children. This leaves little time for socializing, and dating is certainly not a high priority. But occasionally fate has other ideas, and what should be an ordinary incidence turns into a life-changing event. Susan Carlisle brings much realism into her medical romance story, where every situation is believable and any emotions are also convincingly expressed. I was kept thoroughly captivated in every development that happens in NURSE TO FOREVER MOM, as both characters and circumstances are engaging.
After going through a very stressful time because of the actions of his ex-wife, Dr. Cody Brennan is finally happy with the direction his life has taken. His career as a surgeon plus the clinic that he co-owns is successful, and his two young daughters are adjusting to living in a quaint Massachusetts town. When he ends up repeatedly interacting with a temporary nurse in the office and during off-hours, Cody and Stacey Ryder find themselves unexpectedly drawn to one another. But with neither looking to be in a relationship, emotions must be kept in check as she will soon be moving on.
There are numerous moments in NURSE TO FOREVER MOM that had me connecting with the characters, thus making me not only care about them but also wanting each one to in fact exist. Susan Carlisle always makes me think her medical stories could actually be true because of all the realness depicted regardless of what is going on. Cody has tried to put the bad times of his past behind him, and his focus is now divided between his two girls and making the clinic a place where people get the assistance that they need. But the instant he meets Stacey, he feels an awareness which has long been dormant. Part of this nurse’s history makes her wary of relationships with anyone, yet Cody and his two loveable girls make her dream about the possibilities.
I enjoyed seeing how the main couple worked through any issues as their responses were constantly genuine. Conversations that Cody and Stacey had were openly frank, and they let me understand what caused these two to react as they did at times. His two daughters had me smiling at their lively antics, and the author proved the importance of family again and again. NURSE TO FOREVER MOM has emotional conflicts, unanticipated occurrences, and delightfully appealing characters.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of the book, and all comments are my honest opinion - 4.5 Stars - NURSE TO FOREVER MUM by author Susan Carlisle is a Harlequin Medical Romance series release for February 2019.
Nurse Stacey Ryder moved to Maple Island Clinic as a temp nurse. So she is determined to keep away from any emotional entanglements and especially from Dr. Cody Brennan and his two sweet daughters. But when he asked for help in a family matter she couldn’t refuse.
Spending the time together with Cody and his family, Stacey came to see Cody as a different person to what he was at the hospital. Could she move away from her past betrayal and trust a person again? And what would Cody say when he finds out the secret she is desperate to hide? The reason she won’t just stay in one place?
NURSE TO FOREVER MUM is a romance about moving from past griefs and embracing second chances. Author Susan Carlisle brought Cody and Stacey together in an inspiring way. It worked on every level—characters, story and emotions. Especially on emotions. There was love, laughter, surprises and tears. And I loved it all.
Highly recommended for all readers of medical romance. - The girls need a mom and he needs a partner. Seems easy? Find someone to fill the roles. But it’s not that easy when heartbreak is involved.
I know when I pick up a Susan Carlisle book, I’m in for a good time. I’ll laugh, I’ll cry and I’ll root for these characters to get together. This book was no exception.
Dr. Cody wasn’t looking for a wife. He wasn’t. He’d been through enough. But working so close to Nurse Stacey is almost more than he can handle. I liked the tension and sparks between them. The partnership while at the clinic is palpable. I wanted them to get together from the start. Stacey is original and energetic–just what the girls need, too.
I raced through this book needing to know what would happen next and hoping the characters would get their happy ending.
If you’re looking for a feel good book that’s guaranteed to warm your heart, then this is the book for you.
