Redeeming the Billionaire SEAL Billionaires and Babies Lauren Canan Books Reviews

  • Slow start but picked up very fast. The story had me interested from then on. This will be a very good series.
  • Very good book, but slow getting into the meat of the story. Not a book I would keep in my library.
  • Enjoyable read.
  • good light hearted suspense
  • ***3.5 Stars***

This was a fair book and I liked both Chance and Holly but wished Chance hadn't fought so to stay away from her (Chance did it to protect her from himself.) Holly had loved him since she was twelve and he was her heart. Playboy/man-whore (Gosh I get so sick of them.) had definitely been around but he respected Holly enough to not touch her. He felt he was bad for her but then began to realize he had been in love with her most of his life as well.

Things happened very quickly at the end and it feels as if I, the reader, was left out of a lot of important info. Items listed below.
    1) After Chance breaks away from Holly to go back to his SEAL team we have no idea what kind of epiphany he had and what it was exactly that changed his mind to bring him back to her. He was so set on not leaving the Team and then boom, he was back.
    2) The reader waited a long time for anything to happen between the two. It wasn't until a short romp that happened at 75-76 percent, and for me that was too long to wait and not enough action. When he left to go back they had only been together once. I felt a bit cheated.

At least this brother used condoms. Cole, who is up in the next book was kind of iffy with protection and definitely not as likable as Chance? I also wanted to add that I like this brother so much more than Cole. There was something very lovable and likable about Chance that was completely absent with Cole.

It would sure be helpful if all of this series books were in one series. This one was in the 'Billionaires and Babies'. The next was is in 'The Masters of Texas'. I tried to find all the books so I could read them all and in order. That was an impossibility unless you're a mind reader. They are not listed in the same series at our local library either. This author is missing a chance for people to
read her complete series. I spent literally hours in the last two days doing searches through Harlequin Authors. You know how they have a series then a half dozen authors contribute. Of course, first I went through this authors books but it's hard to find all the books in a series when they are not named that way.It cost me too much time, effort and trouble. This book I happened to accidentally run into and wanted to read the blurb only to be surprised it was about Cole's brother Chance. I think I'm giving up on this author. I've read a few of her books and most of them contain man-whores/playboys and for this reader and a lot of my friends, we have been venturing away from that theme that is all too prevalent in books these days. I also don't like it when the guys thoughts stray back to previous women he's bedded or he is thinking about how much experience he has and he'll make it good for her and some of these thoughts come while he is in bed with 'the one.' Not my cuppa!
  • Chance is a US Navy Seal that came home to recuperate from his injuries caused by the war. Holly is vet who has loved Chance her entire life. But roots are important to her. She has never left calico springs Texas, she has a clinic & she is the sole guardian for her niece, Emma. Her brother died in the war and her sister in law died giving birth to Emma which leaves Holly with the sole responsibility of raising the child.

When Chance came home, old feelings are stirred, desires running rampant. But Chance lives to fight the war, staying home is not an option and holly needs a man who can be there for her and Emma all the time. So Chance has to make a decision - stay home where his ❤️ belongs and give up his career or go back to fight for his country and risk the love of a vet and her little bundle of joy?

Very good read and I love stories that have babies included. Also holly is a vet and I love stories that have animals. There were a few typo errors so I suggest the author ensure her future books are edited properly before publishing but otherwise than that, it’s a short story that I read in one sitting. Also the patriotism to our country is not to be missed.
  • This is the first novel in the Masters of Texas series and also the first novel I've read by this author.

Chance Masters is a Navy SEAL, returning home to his wealthy family's Circle M ranch in Texas to rest and recuperate after being wounded during a mission. His wounds aren't only physical--although he risked his life to save her, an innocent little girl was killed during that mission, and he blames himself for her death.

Holly Anderson, whose father once worked as ranch manager at the Circle M, now shares a veterinary clinic just across the road from the ranch and she's one year away from getting her license as a veterinarian. She's had a crush on Chance Masters from the time she was barely a teenager and tagged along behind him and his best friend, her brother Jason. In addition to the clinic, Holly is also raising a baby girl, Emma, her brother Jason's daughter. Sadly, Jason died while serving in Iraq, and the pregnant wife he left behind died in childbirth several months later. Holly hasn't seen or heard from Chance in twelve years, and when he and his brother, Cole, show up at the clinic, she doesn't even recognize him. Gone is the handsome trouble-making teenager and in his place is a gorgeous, fully grown, sexy hunk of a Navy SEAL.

As these two old friends get reacquainted, they both try to fight the attraction between them. They both know that as soon as Chance is cleared to return to active duty, he'll leave. Although he's attracted to the lovely woman Holly has become, he's certainly taken aback by the baby girl she's raising. Add to the mixture the possibility that Chance's eldest brother, Wade, wants to sell the ranch, the fact that Holly has an unwelcome and dangerous stalker, and that Chance desperately wants to pass his upcoming physical and you've got all the makings of one very good, entertaining, and emotional read.
